Science Week at Moggill!
Senior STEM students in Years 3 – 6 have been learning about flight for their design and technology unit. They have come up with many questions surrounding the concept of flight, viewed documentaries about the history of aviation and how this technology and materials have changed over time. Students have also considered the forces of flight including lift, gravity, thrust and drag when designing and making paper planes to travel the longest distance possible. In week 6, for National Science week, the unit will culminate with the students flying their best distance paper airplane design in a Moggill State School Paper Plane Distance Flying competition. In week 7 students will analyse their paper planes to explore how and why they flew so well. We are all eager to see them take off! Parents are most welcome to come along and help.
