A reminder for all that if your student is unwell or will not be attending school for any reason please contact the school and provide this information to the office – 3202 0444 (Press 3). It is important that all absences are accounted for in State Schools for several reasons:
To ensure the student is safe and their whereabouts are known by family and school;
It is a legal requirement for parents to have their children attending school every day;
To ensure that students have the best possible education and outcomes for their future aspirations and education;
To have schools and parents working in partnership to resolve any ongoing or difficult situations that prevent the student from coming to school – looking at all options available within the education setting.
Our system sends SMS messages to all parents/families that have not provided a reason for absence as a support measure to inform you and a reminder to contact the school and identify your awareness that your child is not at school. This is not unique to Moggill SS and is a process that all State Schools are following to increase the safety of all students.
