As part of our National Day of Action Against Bullying on Friday, we will be re-launching The PALM of PEACE. Dr Simon Petrie (author of Pathways to Peace) will attend classes on Friday, speaking to students about the importance of being safe at school and within our community. Dr Petrie will discuss The Palm of Peace with students. The Palm of Peace gives the power to students to be PEACE MAKERS. Dr Petrie will explain to students that if someone is upsetting them, bullying them, being mean to them, then…….. hold up your palm and say "PEACE". Students will be encouraged to let their fingers remind them of the Peace Code to turn things around. An example of The Palm of Peace is provided below. Students will be able to use The Palm of Peace in the playground and in the classroom when confronted with difficult situations. It would be appreciated if you take a moment at home to discuss the power of The Palm of Peace when dealing with bullying or antisocial behaviour. If you have any concerns about your child and bullying, please ensure you discuss this with your child's class teacher in the first instance.
