I was honoured to attend the opening of the new Moggill District Sports Park last Saturday morning on behalf of Moggill State School and other schools within the wider Pullenvale Ward. The facilities, officially opened by Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, is a fantastic asset to the Moggill community.
It was wonderful to hear that a parent in our school community, Mr Rich Pidgeon (President of the Moggill Mustangs Junior AFL Club), was acknowledged for being a driving force in the planning and development of the project. I had the pleasure of speaking with Rich and his enthusiasm and passion for promoting children to participate in sports is inspiring. It's great to know that we have people like Rich in our community making a positive difference.
As a school, we look forward to using the new sporting fields and strengthening our partnerships with local sporting clubs, such as the Moggill Mustangs.
