It is timely to remind parents and caregivers of our head lice procedures. Periodically head lice becomes an issue within our school community. Our school policy around head lice encourages parents / caregivers to notify classroom teachers or the office if head lice is noticed. This enables us to notify all parents within the class (through a written letter and SMS message) that there are cases of head lice within the classroom and school. Our expectation from here is for parents to check their child for head lice, and if they are found to commence the process of treatment. This will help prevent head lice from spreading. Remember – anyone can get head lice, they have no preferences for cleanliness, hair colour, hair type or age. The key is to work together as a whole of school community to treat identified cases. Thank you for your support with this matter.
