As you are no doubt aware, the shopping centre development across the road from our school has commenced construction.
A stakeholder meeting was held this morning to discuss the scope of works and possible impacts on our school community. All parties are committed to ensuring public safety is the main priority at all times with increased traffic flow identified as a major risk. The development team at Consolidated Properties and Hutchinson Builders have submitted a construction traffic management plan to council that I will communicate to you upon approval. They did confirm this morning that all workers associated with the development will park within the work-site.
Also confirmed was road-side parking, outside of designated parking spot on Moggill Road, will not be permitted and the area will be monitored closely by both Brisbane City Council staff and the Queensland Police.
As a school, in an effort to create more parking opportunities for parents on Moggill Rd, we are increasing the capacity of our staff carpark near the Hall and encouraging staff to utilise this facility. Discussions are also underway with local churches regarding the access of their sites for possible parking options.
