Highly Capable Student Program

Here at Moggill State School, we acknowledge that schools and children are about much more than academic grades.  To nurture and develop our students in their wide ranging areas of talent, skill and interest, we offer a diverse enrichment program covering everything from the arts to public speaking, robotics to reading, pushing our talented kids to achieve their potential in every field.

As a Qld Academies Partnership School, Moggill is able to offer workshops and programs both during and after school time, to extend our academically capable students.

Through our extensive school music program and participation in the combined schools’ Creative Generation performances, we provide opportunities to extend and develop the skills of our artistically talented students.

In-school clubs like Optiminds, STEM Club and Readers Club, challenge our students to use and extend their thinking and problem solving skills.

Moggill State School teachers are constantly looking for engaging and exciting opportunities to extend the breadth and depth of learning experiences for our students, encouraging them to do and be their best.

Creative Generation (CGEN) 2020

In 2020, Moggill SS students from Year 3 to 6 will again have the opportunity to participate in “CGEN - Creative Generation State Schools Onstage”.
CGEN is a hugely exciting experience that will allow students from Moggill SS to perform as part of a massed group of state school students in a nationally televised music and performing arts event held at the Brisbane Convention Centre on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July 2019.
CGEN is more than just a musical extravaganza.  CGEN is a journey of self-confidence for the talented students who take part.”
Students do not need to be trained dancers/singers or attend lessons outside of school, but they do need to have a love of performing and the commitment to attend outside-of-school rehearsals run by professionals.
Nominations for next year’s event close on Wednesday 11 December 2019
If you would like to have the possibility of your child being involved next year, please download the CGEN Information Pack or collect a copy from office. If you’re unsure, please submit an application this year (we can always withdraw your application next year if circumstances have changed).
Completed documents need to be returned to the office by the last Wednesday of this school year.
Please see Mrs Whitefield for more information.
