Tug-O-War

The senior school tug-o-war is being postponed to Term 4. With interschool sport commencing in Week 6, next Friday afternoon is needed for managing and coaching teams for the fixtures which will commence the following Friday. The tug-o-war will be held after the interschool sports have concluded in Term 4.

West Akuna District Athletics

Well done to our Moggill State School Athletics Team for their amazing efforts at the West Akuna District Athletics Carnival last Monday and Friday. All students represented Moggill with pride earning us 6th place overall in a very tough year of competition.

Congratulations to the following students who earned selection in the West Akuna Team to compete at the Met West Regional Trials 26, 27, and 28 August. Daniel A (Yr 7, 1st – 100m, 200m, and Relay), Maxx B (Yr 5, 3rd – 100m), Bronita D (Yr 7, 3rd – Shot Put), Tayla D (Yr 5, 2nd – Shot Put), Dante F (Yr 6, 1st – Discus), Lincoln G (Yr 6, 1st – Relay), Caleb M (Yr 7, 2nd – Shot Put), Tyler N (Yr 7, 2nd – High Jump), Randall H (Yr 4, 2nd – 800m), Tom S (Yr 5, 1st – Long Jump, Relay), and James v (Yr 6, 1st – Relay). Daniel A was also awarded 2nd place in the overall age championship for 12 years boys, a huge effort considering the level of competition in his age group. Well done Daniel! A special mention for our 9 years students, Connor M (Yr 3), Harper L (Yr 3), Seth L (Yr 4), Madison D (Yr 3), Lucy B (Yr 4) and Grace R (Yr 4), for a great effort at their first district carnival! Congratulations to Grace, Madison and Connor for making the final of their 80m event.

Finally, thank you to Mrs Sullivan for her assistance in managing the team and thank you to parents and family members for assisting with transport and supporting our students over the two days of the carnival.

Interschool Sport

The 2nd Semester Interschool Sport Season begins 22 August and continues for 10 Weeks. The sports on offer this semester are Softball, Baseball, Flag Tag and Rugby League. Students have stated their preferences during the week and consent forms with related details have been forwarded home via students. Please note, students must have their consent forms returned by next Wednesday, 20 August in order to participate in the first week of competition. Thank you for your attention to this detail. We look forward to another exciting semester of sport!

Junior Sports Day

The Junior Sport Carnival will be held on Wednesday, 17 September. Please place this date in your calendar.
