From the LOTE Room

6/03/2017
On Tuesday, 7 March, we are welcoming 21 students from Shimonoseki Junior High School in Japan. Thank you so much to parents and guardians who kindly offered to become host families. It was just overwhelming to see such a fantastic response from our beautiful Moggill Community.  Education QLD International and their agent were very impressed, so a big thank you to all.

As the Japanese students arrive at our school in the afternoon, host families will meet their student at 3pm (when the school bell goes) under the sails area between A and B blocks.  It will be only a short period of time they stay in Australia, so enjoy this whole new experience and different culture at your home.  Treat them as one of your own children.  If you have any worries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sachilko (agent) or myself.
As a part of Japanese cultural experience, on 16 March I am introducing Japanese lunch to taste for Years 4, 5 and 6 students. It is $10 and you can choose Chicken or Vegetarian.  They both are gluten free, but please specify if your child has any food allergies on the order form. The lunch will be delivered to cater for the second break, so your child still needs morning tea for the first break. Lunches are freshly cooked and delivered by Mizu Restaurant in Brisbane. It is an authentic Japanese restaurant with great reputation. I hope many students will enjoy Japanese taste.  If parents wish to order, you are very welcome to do so, and please come along to enjoy your lunch together with us.
LOTE Club students are busy preparing for the visit. They will take a big part in hosting the Japanese students at school.  I am sure all of us will have a great time next week!
Thank you
