150 Years Celebrations

SESQUECENTENARY PLANNING/TRIVIA NIGHT
Our 150th birthday planning and preparations are well under way. The week-end of Friday, 12 February to Sunday, 14 February 2016 will be a MASSIVE celebration. Please watch this space for more detail. A Trivia Night on Saturday, 17 October (commencing at 7.00 pm) will start our celebrations. One hundred and fifty years is a long time, much has happened in that time. Come along to the Moggill State School’s Trivia Night and together let's investigate some of the events that made us laugh, cry, ponder ambivalently or perhaps we didn't even notice. A sesquicentenary is an historic occasion but that doesn't mean that the questions will all be about history, there will be science, geography, literature and popular culture. There could be questions about supernovas, cheesecake or the life and times of Kenny Rogers! Did you know that Kenny Rogers once entered a Kenny Rogers lookalike contest and finished 3rd? Apparently the winner was a guy called Darrel Samson from Flint Michigan. There is a story going around that Kenny entered a Darrel Samson lookalike contest and finished 2nd with the real McCoy finishing 4th. It must feel strange to look more like someone, who looks more like you than you do, than they do?

Thank you.
